1986 – Dump vessel on Mitsubishi FUSO truck – Dump Truck

1986 – Mobile Dental Clinic for the Ministry of Health (MOH)

In the same year we designed and manufactured three units of these dental clinics for MOH. The mobile dental clinic is basically a bus that serves as a clinic. It has external power supply to power the air-conditioning, the dental chairs, x-ray machine, lights, sterilisation equipment and other electrical appliances)

We started our business in 1986 by building dump trucks and mounting Bennes Marrel hook-lifts – Dump Truck

1986 – Bennes Engineers Pte Ltd.

Our company was formed in March 1986 as Bennes Engineers Pte Ltd. We started our business as a distributor of Bennes Marrel hooklift and dump hoist from France.

1987 – 1st Vacuum Tanker built in Singapore

In 1987 we were the first company to manufacture vacuum tankers in Singapore. Before then, all vacuum tankers in Singapore were imported from Europe and Japan.

1987 – Our first factory. In 1987, we leased a 20,000 sq ft temporary land from JTC at Jalan Pesawat and there we built our first factory.

In the same year that we built our own factory at Jalan Pesawat, we were awarded a contract by Changi International Airport Services (CIAS) to design and build two hi-lift refrigerated catering trucks that can reach up to 5.6 m above ground. The scissor lifts were from Air Marrel.

1989 – Multi-Purpose Utility Trucks

That same year we designed and sold three units of Multi-Purpose Utility Trucks to Ministry of the Environment.

1989 – Name of Company changed to Syntech Engineers PL

In 1989 our company was acquired by L&M Systems Pte Ltd, then a listed company in Singapore. Our company name was subsequently changed to Syntech Engineers PL.

1990 – RSAF Sweepers

In the same year we also sold 5 units of FMC runway sweepers to the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). Subsequently they exercised the option to purchase 2 more units, making it a total of 7 units.

1990 – Rioned Sewer Cleaning Equipment

In 1990, we were appointed by Rioned to be their distributor for their range of sewer cleaning equipment.

1990 – Runway Sweepers for CAAS

In 1990, we sold two units of FMC - Wayne runway sweepers to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).

1990 – Concrete Mixer Trucks

1990 was also the year our company started selling concrete mixer trucks.

1991 – Concrete Batching Plant – Mini Version

In the same year, we also supplied small concrete batching plants to Malaysia. This unit was supplied to a project in Genting Highlands.

1991 – Medina crawler scissors lift

In 1991, Syntech was commissioned to design and build 16 units of crawler scissor lifts for a project in Saudi Arabia. This project is for the building of a multi-storey carpark around Medina mosque, the second holiest site in the world for Muslims.

1991 – Manufacturing recovery and tow trucks

In that same year, we started designing and manufacturing recovery and tow trucks for the local automotive industry.

1992 – Mobile Control Tower

(1992 was a busy year for us. In the same year, we were awarded a contract to design and construct five (5) units of the mobile control towers for the Republic of Singapore Air-Force (RSAF). This is a self-sustained control tower mounted on wheels and can be used in normal operations as well as in an emergency)

1992 – Pontoon for Kanematsu Engineering in Japan

1992 was a first for us to design and build a pontoon for Japan. This pontoon is used for dredging and has to be transportable by container truck for overland transport. In order to achieve this, we built a detachable pontoon that can be detached easily and transported by 40-ft containers)

1992 – Concrete Batching Plant

In 1991, with the success we had in selling our concrete mixer trucks, we also started designing and building concrete batching plants

1993 – Petroleum Tankers

In 1993 we built a total of 17 petroleum tankers for Caltex and Shell.

1993 – Aircraft Refuellers

That same year we built 5 units of aircraft refuellers for Shell Eastern Petroleum, 2 of which were delivered to Shell Cambodia

1993 – Pier Service Towers

10 units of port service tower for Sembawang Shipyard

1994 – Bought factory at 8 Link Road

Expanding our business, in 1994 we bought a factory at 8 Link Road.

1995 – Mobile Compactors

One of the biggest challenges faced by our company happened in 1995. That year we were awarded a contract by Ministry of the Environment to design and manufacture 300 mobile compactors to be delivered within 12 months.

1996 – Mobile Sewer Cleaner Combination Unit

In 1996, our company begin manufacturing mobile sewer cleaner combination unit. This Combi unit combine vacuuming, high pressure water jetting and recycling system. Our first customer was Ministry of the Environment.

2000 – Vacuum tankers and Combination units for Philippines

Under the World Bank funded projects, in 2000 and 2001, we manufactured a total of 26 units of vacuum tankers, combination units and sewer jetters for Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System in Manila, Philippines.

2001 – Mobile Link Bridge for Singapore Cruise Centre

In 2001 we were awarded a contract by PSA to design and build a mobile gangway similar to the aerobridges used at the airport terminals. The requirement of this gangway is that it must be able to dock to any type of cruise ships that call at their port from their seven (7) metre high elevated cruise terminal to any ship up to 12 m high.

2004 – Mechanical ramp for PSA and 2 more for Jurong Port in 2007

In 2004, We designed and built a mechanical ramp for port operations. This ramp is to be used for barges carrying containers from neighbouring islands. The ramp is designed for carrying truck and trailer load of up to 65 ton and is built in accordance to BS5400 and BS6349 standards)

2007 – Modular Spares Storage System (MS3)

In 2007 we designed and manufactured 92 sets of modular spares and storage system (dubbed the MS3) for Head Quarter, Maintenance and Engineering Support, MINDEF

2007 – IBAK Distributor

In 2007, our company was appointed by IBAK for their range of sewer inspection camera system.

2007 – WinCan

In the same year, we were also appointed as the distributor of WinCan of their sewer inspection software programme

2008 – Combination units for CMC, Sri Lanka

In the same year, we delivered 4 units of sewer combination units to Sri Lanka Colombo Municipal Council. In a span of ten years, we delivered more than 100 units of vacuum tankers, combination units and garbage collection trucks to them.

2008 – PSA Spreader Test Bed

In 2008, we were awarded a contract by PSA to design and manufacture 2 spreader test beds. The test bed is used to simulate a load on the spreader by hydraulic mean. This information is then captured on a computer system to determine the condition of the spreaders used in PSA ports.

After manufacturing and testing, we deliver the spreader test bed to PSA

2008 – Commissioning and Testing in Sri Lanka

For all deliveries to Sri Lanka, we will conduct training, testing and commissioning over there

2009 – Personnel & Equipment Transporter (PET)

In the same year, we were awarded also by MINDEF, a contract to build 13 units of Personnel & Equipment Transporter for the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosive branch of the SAF Combat Engineers.

2009 – Battalion Casualty Station (BCS) for Head Quarter, Army Medical Service, MINDEF

In 2009 we were awarded a contract by MINDEF to design and manufacture 58 units of Battalion Casualty Stations (BCS) for use by Head Quarter, Army Medical Services. These units were deployed to all the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) battalions for treatment of mass casualties.

2010 – Battlefield Command & Control (BCC)

In 2010 we were awarded a contract by Cubic Defence, New Zealand, to design and build 2 units of the BCC. These 2 units are exclusively for use by the SAF for training and operational purposes.

2010 – Maintenance Task Vehicles (MTV)

In the same year, we were awarded a contract to build 44 units of the MTV by MINDEF. These MTV were for the use of battlefield repairs of tanks and armoured vehicles operated by the SAF Armoured Regiments.

2011 – Syntech 25th Anniversary

In 2011 we celebrated our company 25th Anniversary at Seletar Country Club

2012 – Training people in sewer cleaning and CCTV of sewer pipes.

In 2012, our company was jointly appointed by Singapore Trenchless Society (SgSTT) and Public Utilities Board (PUB) to conduct and certify operators for sewer cleaning and CCTV training courses.

2013 – Rapidly Deployable Maritime Container (RDMC)

2013 – Tremorlator (Earthquake simulator)

We were awarded a contract by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) to build a truck mounted earthquake simulator dubbed the Tremorlator.

2013 – Double Stack Trailers (DST)

In 2013, we were awarded a contract by the Singapore Port Authority (PSA) to supply 25 units of 4-axles double stack trailer and 35 units of 5 -axles double stack trailer. The total contract of 60 units were delivered within six months.

2013 – Rapidly Deployable Maritime Container (RDMC)

In 2013 we were awarded a contract to design and manufacture 2 units of RDMC. These expandable containers are based on an ISO container footprint and can be expanded to be used as an operating theatre and ICU unit. They were used by the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).

2016 – Self Contained Storage Containers

2016 – Aircraft Refuellers for Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan

In 2016 we manufactured and supplied 2 aircraft refuellers and 1 trailer mounted refueller module to Taiwan

2016 – Self Contained Storage Containers

In 2016 we designed and manufactured 11 units of storage container which uses solar energy to power air-conditioning system for the storage of equipment in the container. These containers are used by the SAF to store heat sensitive equipment without electrical power availability.

2016 – Aircraft Refuellers for Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan

2018 – Mechanical Expanding System (MES) Containers

In 2018 we designed and manufactured 23 units of MES for Cubic Technologies Singapore. These containers are hydraulically powered and used by the SAF for equipping during military training.

2019 – We were also awarded a contract by MINDEF to supply and install safety accessories for all wheeled vehicles in the SAF.

2019 – Maintenance of Medical Containers and Command Posts

2020 – we bought our current factory at 27 Gul Lane and officially started full operation in the beginning of 2020
